Back to My Roots: Duro Olowu

Some of you many not be aware, but I am a Nigerian by birth. I lived in Nigeria for 12 years, then I moved to Ghana in 2006 and now I am in Canada. Most of you guys have never heard my voice. No, I do not have a Canadian/American accent. I have a mix of Nigerian and Ghanaian accent mostly because of the people in my immediate surroundings. However, most people would say I'm more of a Ghanaian than a Nigerian, but my full name Kikelomo Omolehinwa would, no doubt, tell anyone that I'm 100% Nigerian. Lol.

Blouse: Forever 21 | Shorts: Duro Olowu For JCP | Shoes: GoJane | Bag: Louis Vuitton | Earrings: Ardene | Wristwatch: Avon's Men's Wristwatch

Total Cost: Approx. $61

About the Outfit: I was very pleased to get my hands on this pair of shorts from the Duro Olowu - JCP collection during my trip to the States. Duro Olowu is a Nigerian designer based in London, UK. I found this pair in the clearance rack and I quickly grabbed it because I absolutely love the vibrant print and pattern on it. I'm not really a shorts person; however, when I saw Ms. Sole of Love, Life & Pearls in a similar pair, I knew I wanted one for myself!

Do you currently live in your country/place of birth, or have you moved? And how many times?

Blue Days

Top: Dynamite | Pants: David Ash Collection | Shoes: Ardene | Wristwatch: Avon | Bag: Louis Vuitton

Hey guys, what's up? The weekend flew by really quickly for me. I attended a friend's surprise birthday party on Saturday, and I wore this to Church on Sunday. This outfit was so unexpected! My mum got me these pants (they're a size bigger than me) , and I really wanted to style them in a different way, so I paired them with this top that's been hiding in my closet unworn for months now.

Also, I'm currently in the middle of picking wall colors for my room, and honestly, it's not as easy as I thought it would be! I want a relaxing color, nothing too bright; just a color that is calming. I had in mind light grey, some dark taupe colors, and navy blue, but I don't know. What do you think? Any color suggestions?

Lately + New In...

It's been a while! I thought I'd update you about what's been happening, hence the lack of posts. The last couple of months have been really tedious for me. I thought I had enough time, but everything happened so quickly around the same time so I decided to take a break. It all began a few weeks to my finals for last semester.

I had been house-haunting, finally I found a place then almighty finals came along, then I had to pack up to move out of my previous house, then I had to move in to a somewhat unfinished house... I had flooring, painting, furnishing and all that going on + some bad cold, so it's been quite stressful.

Unto some refreshing news, I finally got my first DSLR! Whoop! After months of procrastination, saving up, research on YouTube, review websites, blog FAQs, and stalking prices on about 5 different websites, I finally got a Canon EOS Rebel T3i with the 18-55mm kit lens + 75-300mm II USM Lens + EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens! I feel I snagged them up for a pretty good deal, so yay to better pictures! I can't wait to play around with my photography skills. Also, I thought I'd share with you some recent additions to my closet in the pictures above.

I also have couple of projects in mind, so I'll work on them and let you know as they unfold.

Thanks for your patience.

I have to say this jacket is probably one of my best buys of the year. I'm so glad I got it in the summer when it was way cheaper. Hopefully you don't get tired of seeing it ;) I love it because it makes me feel like a princess!!:D

I've recently been asking myself a lot of questions. One of them is what my style is. I get asked this question a lot, but honestly it's a very difficult question to answer. I'm trying to get myself together to see if I can come up with an answer. Do you have any ideas as to what my style is? I'd like to know!

Hope you had a great weekend! I spent mine studying for a mid-term I have today! Wish me good luck! :)

Thanks for stopping by, and come back soon!

Fall with Colors

Jumper: Walmart. Similar here

Scarf: Ardene.
Rings:Ardene
Earrings: Ardene
Bag: Louis Vuitton (Birthday gift)  here

Fall has come upon us so fast already. I was preparing my closet for it when I found this blue jumper in one of my suitcases with many more pieces of clothing I have never put on! Some of them, I have had for over 2 years!!! So, I decided to think of ways to incorporate it into my style, and this is what I came up with. I LOVE this outfit so much because it's so comfortable!
Comfort is everything to me, and so I ensure that all my outfits meet that 'standard'.

The studs on the shoulder, I added myself because I felt the jumper was too plain. I can totally see myself wearing this to one of my 8:30a.m. classes. What do you take into consideration when putting together an outfit? What do think of the stud trend?

Thanks for reading!
