WHAT TYPE OF BODY SHAPE DO YOU HAVE?

Hello lovelies,

I will be discussing the different types of female body shapes. I'm sure at least once you've come across a situation where you and a friend got an outfit that is either the same or very similar but it looks very good on one of you but not so much on the other person. This is because as girls, we are built very beautifully and we have very unique features individually that make us stand out. What may look very good on me, may look bad on you. So it's very important to know your body type to make sure you're always looking good.

I'm going to name the different body types and their characteristics so that you can identify what category you belong to and follow up on the posts.

NOTE: There are slimmer and fuller versions of the shapes. :)

1. Pear body shape: This is the category I belong to. If your lower body measurements are generally bigger/wider than the top you have a pear-body shape. Generally, you have a slimmer upper body half, you have a clearly defined waist and full thighs. Your shoulders are narrow. From your waist downwards, your body grows wider. When you gain weight, it's mostly visible and distributed in your thighs, hips and bottom. You also gain weight quickly in these areas before gaining on your stomach or arms. For clothing sizes, you wear a smaller size on your upper half and a bigger size for the bottom half.

2. Hour glass shape: Your body shape is basically like an hourglass, hence, the name. The measurements of your bust and hips are the same or almost the same. You have a well defined short waist. When you gain weight, it is evenly distributed all over your body. your shoulders are in line with your hips.

A celeb with this shape: Beyonce
3. Oval/Apple Shape: Your body frame is generally heavy. You have a prominent, low stomach and this is where you will most likely gain most weight. Your have sloped shoulders, you also have chunky thighs, wide hips and large bust.

A celeb with this shape: Jennifer Hudson

4. Rectangle Shape: You have slight curves and your waist is not clearly defined. You may have small to medium sized bust. When you gain weight, it will be distributed mainly around your waist (not stomach) first.

A celeb with this shape: Gwyneth Paltrow
5. Inverted Triangle/Wedge shape: Your shoulders are wider than your hips and you may have a flat bottom, narrow hips and an athletic body with a full chest. When you gain weight, it normally would be noticed in your arms and chest.

A celeb with this shape: Demi Moore

These are the main and distinct shapes. Some people fall in between so, don't worry if you think you didn't find your category. Here's a picture with some of the shapes side by side so that you can compare.

If you are still not sure or you have any questions, please post them in the comments section below and I'll be more than happy to help you out as much as I can.

Remember there is no 'ideal' body shape. So don't feel bad about your body. Just try to embrace it and do your best to dress it up nicely. OK?

Have fun figuring it all out. You can ask a friend to help you out with the measurements so that you're certain.

Thanks for your time and have fun!!! :)

ITEMS TO HAVE IN YOUR CLOSET - SECOND PART

Hello, This is the continuation of the first part right here! :)
  1. A statement necklace/ statement jewelry: Adding statement pieces to outfits can take an outfit from basic to glam in seconds! I would recommend the necklace more but the choice  is all yours! Get from Aldo or forever21
  2. An emergency unique dress: I like to call it that because, it is acts as a life-saver. On days when you just can't put yourself together to create an outfit, you know that this dress is there to save you. This dress show fit your body perfectly in all aspects. Because, its all year round, this dress should preferably be above knee length so that you can wear it in summer and throw some tights on for cold weather.
  3. A head band with a cute bow: This will help A LOT on bad hair days or days where you don't have enough time. Just pull your hair back and place this around your head and pull your hair into a high bun and you're set!
  4. Red Lipstick: No matter the weather, once in a while you will feel the need to let your face do the presenting. Whether you're going glam with red lips in an evening gown, or casual in any other outfit, red lips will always make a statement. This will be your stress-free instant glam + boldness. Get from well.ca or Elf cosmetics
  5. Finally, a mint gum: This or any favorite gum of yours. I'll just say, everyone needs to have fresh breath at every moment that they'll be in contact with people in their life.LOL
That was it! I hope you enjoyed the series! Just in case, the part one is  right here! Please don't forget to check it out so you have the complete list! :)

Thank you and have an awesome weekend!

ITEMS TO HAVE IN YOUR CLOSET : FIRST PART

Hello! Hope you're doing great!

Today's post will be about must-have pieces of clothing (mostly) to have all year round. These pieces are supposed to be life-savers for days when you need a little extra something. LOL!

  1. The number one for me will have to a pair of nude shoes: Nude is like the new black. Back in the day, black was the color that you could match up with anything. Now, we have nude to lift some of the burden from black! Yaay!! It doesn't matter if they are wedges, heels, flats, sandals or even boots. Well, Boots will be for either Fall, winter or Spring (maybe). I would recommend not wearing heels/wedges in areas where it snows heavily! You can get some nude shoes from urban-planet or urbanog.com or anywhere else you get your shoes from.
  2. A pair of go-to dark-wash jeans/jeggings/shorts: Preferably skinnies. I chose skinnies to be the winner because of its versatility. If boots are involved, you can easily tuck them in and skinnies look good with either high heels, wedges or even flats. It's just very versatile! I also chose a dark color because, dark colors give you the illusion of a slimmer frame and they also make an outfit look more sophisticated! You may want to put on jeggings if you feel the need for more comfort. You can get some from urbanog.com or forever21
  3. A black handbag: As I said earlier on, this is because of the versatility of the color. I would recommend getting one in medium-large size.I never had a black bag of my own until a few months back! Can you imagine? I was dying to get one but I couldn't because either I couldn't find the style I wanted or it was too expensive. I finally got one that's good enough for me (it has gold detailing - I LOVE gold detailing).
  4. A blazer: If you've been reading a lot of my posts, you would have been able to predict that a blazer would have to be on this list. Everyone should have at least one blazer in their closet. I would recommend getting a black blazer and a bright colored blazer. The black blazer can be used for everyday casual looks and the bright for, adding spice to an outfit! When choosing the color for the bright blazer, make sure you're choosing a color that compliments most of your outfits and your skin color. You can throw on a blazer in almost any weather depending on its thickness. For example : you can put on a black blazer, a white basic short sleeve top, floral shorts, full leggins/stockings with flats, ankle boots or tall boots. :) you see? Get one from forever21
  5. Scarves: OMG! Scarves! Either a bold animal print scarf (leopard/zebra print) or just a bold/bright solid color scarf. throw this on almost any outfit and you're good to go! Get from forever21

The part two/continuation for the complete list can be found right here!  Please check it out!

Thank you and have a great weekend!

YOU THINK YOU'VE HAD THE MOST EMBARRASING EXPERIENCE?

Hello people!!

I hope you all are having an awesome day!! Before I continue I would just like to say, Make sure NO ONE stops you from reaching your dreams!

I don't normally do this and I know this is not what this blog is about but, I just thought I'd share with you what happened to me in the last thirty minutes of my life.

I woke up today feeling very normal and happy to be alive. I made a very important call and I heard the door bell ring. It was my two friends: Barbara and Janet!

They came in and had food to eat and we went on chatting. I suddenly remembered I had a deadline to meet and that deadline was in about 20 minutes. I had not taken my bath or even had anything to eat. In my mind I quickly thought of ways to avoid missing the deadline.

I either had to send an email out or go submit my application in person. I know you would think that sending an email would be easier and faster but guess what? I couldn't do that because, I had to re-download the form and fill it all out again. Then would have to find a way to put in a digital signature. On the other hand, I had printed out this form and my plan was to get up early and submit it after work. Guess what? Yesterday, my boss and I agreed that I'll work tomorrow instead of today! But I completely forgot about that!

Without wasting time, I quickly got set and put on a pair of slippers. I ran out of my house, it was cold but all I could think of was I had to get there in the next 10 mins, latest. As I got to the junction of my street, something I had never dreamt of happened! My slippers cut, On the road.. I went back to pick it up and tried to walk in it. I realized it was going to slow me down!

I picked it up from the ground and took off the other one! I continued running bare-feet. I got to the main road where I had to cross. That was when it actually hit me that people were staring at me. Just so you know, I do this thing that I can pretend like I have no idea what's going on around me but I am fully aware of it. That was exactly what I did.

I continued walking fast through the parking lot like I was dressed like any other person, with shoes, that is. I walked through the school and found the building. When I entered, I could not find the room I was looking for. I entered a different office and asked for directions to the room and after going round and round for like 3 minutes and I finally found the room. I entered and gave my application to the gentleman I saw there.

He also pretended like he didn't see my barefeet and the slippers in my hand. He took the form and just assured me that I will be contacted. I left the building and I thought to myself.. 'WOW, Kike you have really changed'. I felt like I had accomplished something great and I knew I had.

People continued to stare at me as I walked back home. But I did not mind them. A group of guys saw me and started laughing but I also did not mind them.

What is my point? A few days, weeks or months ago, I would have turned back around to go back home. My motive would have been that, 'well my house was closer or that I could re-apply the next year'. But today, I broke out of that shell I used to hide in and I feel so good right now!

I don't even care if I am chosen or not but what I know is, I did something great today! I did not let others stop me from achieving my goal! This is the beginning of a new future for me! I totally thank God for this episode and I know that everything works together for good for those that love him.

So, my lovely friends and readers, DO NOT let anyone stop you from doing anything you want to do for yourself no matter who they are. Not even your mother! Don't feel depressed, come out of that shell and do something for yourself and just don't care about any negativity from anyone.

If they can't do it, they want to tell you that you can't but you know what, you are greater than that.

Thank you very much for reading!! I hope you enjoy the rest of the week.

God bless you!!!

EYEBROW TUTORIAL!!!!!

Hello guys What's up?

I'm so super excited about this.. LOL.. I finally made the eyebrow tutorial video. This is my first tutorial video ever!!! So please, bear with me.

I hope you guys enjoy it and learn something from it!! If you have any question or suggestions, please post them in the comment box!!

The products I used are:
  1. Elf eyebrow kit in dark
  2. Elf eyeshadow 'C' brush
  3. Aziza eyeliner pencil in black
  4. Maybelline fit me foundation ( any concealer or foundation will do) - a shade lighter than you skin color
  5. A mascara wand brush (not sure if that's what its called x.X)
  6. Maybelline fit me pressed powder
  7. Elf angled foundation brush
  8. Elf powder brush

The main tricks in doing this are:
  1. Make sure you blend as much as possible with the mascara wand brush
  2. Make sure whatever kit or pencil you are using is not more than a shade lighter than your hair color
  3. Make sure you blend out the foundation/concealer properly, I like to do it upwards and then sideways
  4. If you naturally have thick eyebrows, follow the shape and growth of you brows. If your brows are thin, you have the option of creating the shape you want but you must also be patient enough to blend very well.
  5. To know the best place to stop drawing the line, take a brush and place it at the bottom of your eyes in such a way that its aligned with your eyes and you will notice where your brows should stop for a natural look.

If you are able to follow those steps, you will hopefully achieve a natural look. You can't really hear what I'm saying at the beginning and end, sorry about that! :(

OK.. Get ready and here we go!!! :D

Here is the YouTube link to the tutorial to view it bigger :)

Before and After

Hope you guys liked it!! :D Please let me know what you think!!!

HOW TO MAINTAIN MAKEUP BRUSHES

Hey everybody! today, I'm doing a post about how to care for your makeup brushes. :D

A lot of us ladies these days hardly have time for stuff like this (truth be said :p). You wake up one morning feeling so good and lazy to get out of bed. Then you roll and grab your phone to check for any missed calls, bbm messages or perhaps Facebook notifications ;).. and then your eyes suddenly shift up and you see the time 8:00am and you're like 'oh! shoot!'. You remember you have an appointment at 8:30am. Aha! you see what I'm talking about?

Then you remember, you forgot to clean up your makeup brushes the previous night. You use the brushes like that and then you're walking on the street when you decide to look in one of the glass mirrors and lo and behold! there's a little guy shining on your forehead. Yeaaahhhh!!!! lol

OK. Lets get to get. Here's how to avoid one of those days by following these simple steps. Things you'll need:
  1. Your make up brushes (every single one of them)
  2. Shampoo or a foaming face wash
  3. Warm water in the bathroom sink for about 15-20mins
  4. Some paper towel or a small towel
So the steps are as follows:
  1. Wet the hairs on the brush slightly pointing downwards then, wet them fully, still pointing downwards.
  2. Using adequate amount of the soap shampoo/wash, gently apply it one the brush hairs from ferrule to tips. Do this over and over.
  3. Then, rinse with warm water. Now check if the water is clear or until no more clumps are visible. If not, repeat step 3 until the water becomes clear.
  4. Squeeze gently from top to bottom (not like clothes! yikes!)
  5. After, place them on their sides on a dry paper towel/ small towel to dry.
  6. Let them air dry. DO NOT DRY THEM STANDING UP!!!!!!! We don't want our brushes looking like you know what! Also, do not leave them soaked in water for too long!
Voila! our make brushes are clean. Don't forget to wash them frequently and by that I mean a minimum of once a week.

HAVE FUN GUYS!!!!!!
Now after all the cleaning and drying, Its time to put them away nicely. I recommend using a brush-set case instead of leaving them open. You can leave them open for minutes after using them but then, return them back into the case so that they don't pick up any more dirt/germs from the environment. Make sure you give  the brushes a little shake and check to make sure they are not damaged then, gently replace them into their case.

BE GOOD. xx
